Mojo monday #225

The scraps I had left of this paper from Creative Imagination just seemed to fit this sketch from Mojo. Added bonus is using a sketch that I missed from when the power was out here, almost back on track for using their weekly sketches. Dressed up the paper with a few sparkly crystals. Inked the edges & done!

This card is the end of this patterned paper!!! :) The last few pieces went into the recycle box when this one was finished! Used owh sketch #25 as a starting point. Sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts. Inked the edges, added a little crystal lacquer, a bit of sheer ribbon & another card in the box for OWH. :)

OWH midweek challenge- Die cuts & punches

I decided to play along with this weeks midweek throwdown challenge over on the OWH stars & stamps blog . Goodness knows I've got enough die cuts & punches to play with. :)

I was going through the scrap file & it was either use this paper up or it needed to go. It had been in there for far too long, it was starting to get to beat up to hang on to any longer. I started with OWH sketch #1. Used a QuicKutz die for the tree. The patterned paper is from Creative Imaginations. The cardstock is from the scrap file. The tree was highlighted with Pebbles Pearlescent chalk and then covered with crystal lacquer.

Now back to thinning the stash a bit more. It's time to make a local teacher very happy! ;)

last of the Disney stickers...

for this sheet at least. ;) I'm sure there are more in the Disney stash to be used later. (The goal is to finish the Disneyland scrapbooks & then the rest of the Disney stash is free to use for cards...)

The last 2 weeks of Mojo monday sketches are giving me trouble so I moved on to using up the Disney stickers to get them off the scrap table. I discovered when helping Sandy design the card kits for CHA, that HAVING to use something or create greatness with something specific is the fastest way to kill the mojo. So for now, if it's not working, I'm moving on. No pressure to create. If it doesn't work the 2nd time I come back to it, OUT IT GOES. :) At least that's my plan for now. So far it's working. The recycle box is filling up & the scrap box is getting empty.

1st up is Mickey. Sandylion stickers dressed up with stickles & covered with crystal lacquer. Windows & Mickey also have crystal lacquer .Mickey is mounted and popped with dimensional adhesive. Patterned paper is from Paper Garden. Black pearl pen in the corners. Sketch is one from my notebook from before I started to keep track of where they came from....

Next up is Donald. Same Sandylion sticker sheet. Patterned paper is from the stash (& is so old that the manufacture isn't noted on the back. It is even priced with a sticker that my favorite store hasn't used in YEARS, like 10 maybe....). Stickles and crystal lacquer again on the stickers. Sentiment stamp is from TPC studios. Donald is mounted on white card stock and popped with dimensional adhesive. Sketch is from OWH blog #13.

Last of this sheet is Goofy. Paper same as Donald. Stickles & crystal lacquer too. Goofy is also popped with dimensional adhesive. Sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts. Used sketch #47 from OWH blog.

5 cards from 1 sticker sheet & some patterned paper all from the stash. :) Didn't make a very big dent, but is feels GREAT to use some of it to make cards for my very favorite cause- Operation Write Home. :)

OWH sketch #105

Since the snow & power outage put a crimp in the creative mojo, I didn't get last weeks sketch done. I found it hard to feel creative all bundled up. Coloring was hard with gloves on & my fingers got cold trying to cut things out....

Here we are all bundled up--
I was able to at least go through a bunch of supplies. Found some old favorites and a that bunch will be moving on... I also realized that in low light, dark brown and black are hard to tell apart.... The brown penguins looked a little funny the next morning. :)

Here's my take on last weeks sketch--
Stickers are Sandylion, dressed up with Glossy Accents. Pluto is mounted on white cardstock and popped with dimensional adhesive. Patterned paper is from Paper Garden. Card stock is from the scrap files. Sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts.

I hope to get caught up on the Mojo Mondays and then use up the rest of the Disney sticker sheet. I've decided this years OWH goal is going to be to slim down the scrap stash and use up all the bits and pieces that I've been saving by making cards (using card sketches that force me to think a bit more out of the box for me. Stretch those creative muscle a bit more) instead of having a number of cards goal. No more hanging on to bits and pieces of paper. :) Use it or recycle it is my new mantra in the scrap room. :)

OWH sketch #106

Getting back in the creative groove after snow, 67 hours with no power, & a week of catching up... I'm a week behind in OWH sketches and Mojo mondays. :( Hopefully I'll get them done this week now that life is somewhat back to normal.

Here's my take on this weeks sketch--
I used patterned paper from Paper Garden. The stickers are Sandylion. Both were from deep in the stash. I dressed them up a bit with some stickles & then covered with glossy accents. Minnie is completely covered with glossy accents & popped with dimensional adhesive. Cardstock is from the scrap files.
