getting a NEPHEW!!!!

I sent this to my sister & her husband, Heidi & John, who found out monday that they're having a boy!!! Yeah! Little boys are so much fun! I know all the cool, fun, noisy, boy toys. I can't wait!

I started with OWH sketch #26. The patterned paper is David Walker as are stickers. Both ribbons are from May Arts, I think. I popped the center piece with dimensional adhesive and put glossy accents on the stickers to dress them up a bit.

Congratulations Heidi & John! I can't wait until little Manuel makes his appearance. :)

a few more Doodlebug scraps....

Almost to the end of these particular Doodlebug scraps...
This card started with sketch #1 from the Stars and Stamps blog. The stamp is from Close to My Heart. I just highlighted him with c-1 & c-3 copics. Then I added a a little bling to his collar.

Next came this guy, because I just couldn't recycle that last strip with the stripes. It was the perfect size for the edge piece. AND I had another dog stamped and all ready to go. I used my nesties to cut him into a circle and then used sketch #106 from Stars and Stamps blog. The rest of the little bits of polka dots and plaid hit the recycle box because they WERE really to small to use. :) Yeah!!! 5 cards made and fewer scraps in the file!!! Now to move on to the next in the pile....

using up scraps

My goal is to use up the scraps of paper that I have been hanging on to because they are to good to recycle. I did good last week while recovering from surgery cleaning out the scrap files, but there were still a TON that were to good to go. Now that the mojo is slowly returning, it's time to use 'em up!

I started with sketch #99 from OWH Stars and Stamps blog. The image stamp is one that I've had for awhile & didn't know what to do with it. It's from a local company (Olympia, Wa), Great Impressions. Colored with copics. Patterned paper is all old Doodlebug. It's so old, it's all 8 1/2 x 11 & is the really light weight (think copy paper light) patterned paper. I used the matching Bazzill cardstock to help beef up the card fronts, till I ran out of the correct matching color. Now to see if I can find a good match since I think that color (forget-me-not) has been discontinued and I have a ton of this paper line to still use...

This card started with sketch 93 from the Stars and Stamps blog. Again the same Great Impressions stamp and more Doodlebug paper...

OWH sketch #114

this week over on the OWH Stars and Stamps blog is sketch #114.
I was busy the last week and a half or so cleaning out the scrap files. :) The files are still pretty full of things to use up, but the recycle box got a WHOLE lot too! Now to get the mojo restarted and get some of these scraps used up....

Todays card is made using up some of those scraps.... All patterned papers are by Doodlebug, (really old, like from 2000 old). Cardstock is bazzill. Stamp is a new one for Doodlebug by Hampton Art that I stamped twice in different colors and then cut out the heart and layered it over the first stamped image with dimensional adhesive. Ribbon is a small piece that I found in the ribbon box.

OWH midweek throwdown- color challenge

this weeks midweek throwdown over at the OWH Stars and Stamps blog is a color challenge-- make a card using green & yellow---

Patterned papers are by Echo Park. Solid green is bazzill. Stamp is by stampabilities and colored with copics.

This is actually NEW paper that I picked up back on Small Business Saturday.... That was back around Thanksgiving I think, so I guess it's not really new, but it didn't come from the scrap pile. I thought the honeycomb of the yellow worked with the bumble bunnies perfectly. :) Now to get more bunnies colored so I can get the other cards put together that I cut all the pieces BEFORE the rest of the sheets of paper got added to the scrap pile.... I have found that I am a VERY SLOW color-er........

OWH sketch #113

this weeks sketch from the Stars and Stamps blog.

All papers are from basic grey. Cardstock is bazzill. Ribbon is american crafts. Sentiment stamp is Fiskars. Brads are from the stash. :)

Mojo is slowly coming back.... At least card creating area is pretty clean. I do have a huge pile of scraps to either use up or recycle... We'll see where the mojo takes me in the next week. :)

OWH sketch #112

Here's my take on this weeks sketch at the Stars & Stamps blog.

Patterned paper is a very old piece of Bo Bunny. Sticker is from Whipper Snapper & dressed up with a little glossy accents. Ovals were cut with nesties.

I hoping the mojo will come back since I'm home recovering from some surgery for the next few days... If nothing else my scrap area will be cleaner & more organized. :) Its about all I can really do while on pain meds. Coloring is definitely out for a bit, or so I've discovered this morning....

window die

I saw this window die used on a couple of cards on OWH's facebook page & have been looking for it ever since. I finally found it!!

I dug through my stash of old punches to create the flowers and leaves in the flower box. No fancy patterned paper on this card. It's all solid cardstock and velum for the window's curtains. :)

window & flower box dies by poppy stamps. assorted punches by fiskars, ek success, family treasures & marvy.

some goodies from Florida

finally got a little playtime--

While in Florida, I had a chance to hit a couple of scrapbook stores there during their version of the paper chase. Theirs has a Pirate theme & all the stores did make n takes that involved pirates. :) The stamp I got at Scraps of Art. A great little store that I've visited before. The patterned paper is the lauderdale line from Basic Grey and was purchased at Posh Scraps. I've been to this one before too, only it was under a different name that first trip. I also made it to the new Hobby Lobby that just opened! Sun, warm, girl time, & paper shopping! The perfect vacation. I can't wait to go back!

Now to finish the unpacking, the laundry and get ready for surgery on Wednesday....

stamp is a house mouse colored with copics. patterned paper is basic grey. cardstock is bazzill.
